I’ve been so focused on making quilts lately that I haven’t sewn much else and haven’t shared a tutorial in a long while. So yesterday I snapped some pictures while I was making a little snack baggie and thought I’d share with you:)
Start with a piece of cotton fabric that is 8″ x 16″.
Fold and press each of the short ends 1/4″ toward the wrong side, then fold over another 1/4″ and press again. Top stitch to secure, back stitching at both ends.
With the wrong side up, fold the bottom short edge up 6 inches and then fold the top short edge down about 2 1/4 inches.
Pin and stitch along the raw edges 1/8″ on both side, making sure to backstitch at each end.
Slightly trim side seams being careful not to cut your stitches. Flip wrong side out, press side seams.
Stitch the sides again using a 1/4″ seam this time, back stitch at both ends to secure.
Flip right side out and you’re done! It’s just like a plastic sandwich baggie, only much better!
Finished size is 7″ wide by 6″ tall making this the perfect Baggie for chips, carrots or even a sandwich. Just put your food in then flip the top over to close.
